Jesus Christ speak parable to the outsiders but explains to His true followers.  Salvation is not based on our good works because salvation belongs to the Lord. ￼

Conclusion:  If you don’t have true faith in Christ you will not grow and mature and your faith will not reach until the end.  If you don’t have true faith in Christ your good works are only selfish (all about you) and self serving ( to get something for yourself in return) not glorifying to Christ.  If you don’t have true faith in Christ you don’t understand the Gospel and you don’t fully embrace the cross of Christ and it’s significance in your life as a sinner before a Holy God.
